Thesis Title: A Novel Approach for the Development of Policies for Socio-Technical Systems
About
Current research interest:
Development of a new framework and decision support systems for the design of policies in socio-technical systems (with focus on environmental targets).
We intend to adapt and extend existing process synthesis, and design methods, to the design of policies in order to support the decisions regarding which measures to use in a policy, and how to combine and schedule them. We are looking into the transport sector (as a case study) trying to generate and compare alternative transport policies. The approach is general and applicable to different sectors and geographical scopes. We expect our approach to accelerate policy design and improve policy effectiveness.
General research Interests:
• Decision Support Systems and Application of Artificial Intelligence and Complexity Science in Chemical & Environmental Engineering
• Development of Novel Approaches for Policy Formulation and Analysis
• Process Systems Engineering
• Computer-aided Design (Simulation and CFD)
• Design and Analysis of Techno-Economic Systems/Processes
• Sustainability
• Topics in Transportation, Energy, and Pulp and Paper, and Petroleum Engineering
