Thesis Title: Selective Traditions: Feminism and the Poetry of Colette Bryce, Leontia Flynn and Sinead Morrissey

Mr. Bernard O'Donoghue

About

I am currently working towards a DPhil in Northern Irish women's poetry at Oxford. This thesis will investigate the relationship between the predominantly male poetic tradition and the work of female poets who emerged in the mid-1990s, focusing on Sinead Morrissey, Leontia Flynn and Colette Bryce.

I completed my MA dissertation on the English language poetry of Gwyneth Lewis at the University of Leicester School of English. This interrogated issues of gender, language and territory.

I am Director of PoetCasting (www.poetcasting.co.uk) and I am an Editor at the Poetry Archive (www.poetryarchive.org.uk).

My own poetry has been published in reputable magazines and journals and I frequently review contemporary poetry.
