My main area of interest is in late medieval Scottish flytings, particularly between Dunbar and Kennedy. The question which I am trying to answer is: 'why is "bad" language bad?' and 'why does "bad" language often have a comedic effect?'
Sometimes I feel as though medieval literature is simply my way into this rather complex issue. However, since medieval literature is my favourite literary period (and because the flyting is such a brilliant piece of comedy), I feel like it's as good of a way in as any.
I'm sorry that this page does not contain more information about me. Currently there are things I should be doing that is more important than on-line networking updates, even of an academic nature.
