About
I am interested in the issue of the preaching and teaching of the early church. In the past this has been taken up in questions about the kerygma or Missionspredigt (among other terms) and approached in a form-critical/traditions-historical way and thus has ended up with either problematic or abstract conclusions. This question is also tied to the underlying issue of the unity of the early church or lack thereof. Thus, for my project I am trying to ask the question again (which has been almost abandoned for about 30 years) and place it on more sure methodological and historical footing through focusing on Paul's letters and utilizing insights from rhetorical and sociological fields of study.
