About
My DPhil thesis asks how, when and why rural France became a new Arcadia in the British imagination.
I also want to understand how France transformed itself into a nation that welcomed visitors.
I'm currently working on a couple of articles, including a piece on disaster tourism and a piece on how people read maps.
I teach on 19th and 20th century European History, with a serious interest in the theory and methods of history. If you'd like to know more, please get in touch.
