About
Chris Attard was educated at St. Aloysius’ College, Birkirkara, Malta (1994-2001). He read law at the University of Malta where he graduated Bachelor of Arts (B.A) summa cum laude in Legal and European Studies in 2004 and was awarded the C. John Colombos Prize for best performance in International Law.
He was awarded the Diploma of Notary public in 2005 and graduated Doctor of Laws (LL.D) in 2007 with a thesis entitled “International Maritime Criminal Jurisdiction: A Maltese Perspective”.
He furthered his studies by specializing in international maritime law at the IMO International Maritime Law Institute, where he wrote a dissertation entitled “The action in rem in the light of recent amendments to the Maltese Code of Organisation and Civil Procedure” and a draft legislation project entitled “An Act to amend the Continental Shelf Act of Malta”.
He graduated Master of Laws (LL.M) with distinction in May 2008, and received the Professor Walter Muller Prize for best draft legislation project. Dr. Attard is licensed to practise as an Advocate in Malta and Gozo.
Dr. Attard is currently pursuing his studies at Ph.D. level at the University of Oxford.
