Can machine learning provide early warning of deterioration in safety-critical systems, such as hospital patients, jet engines, or manufacturing processes?
The aim of my current work is to use such techniques to dramatically reduce deaths in hospitals via intelligent vital-signs monitoring.
My work has been used to provide early warning of failure in the Eurofighter, Airbus A380, Boeing 787 Dreamliner, manufacturing processes, automotive engines, ship turbochargers, and oil rigs.
