About
I'm currently reading towards a DPhil in Computer Science at Balliol, Oxford, having completed a BSc in Physics and Philosophy at the University of Sheffield, an MLitt in Philosophy at the University of St Andrews, and recently an MSc (Distinction) at Balliol.
I doing my research in the Department of Computer Science under the supervision of Stephen Pulman and Bob Coecke, on the topic of developing better semantic similarity measures for sentences of natural language.
I am also the acting computer science tutor at Hertford College, where I hold a lectureship. I am helping the college prepare for the first intake of students for Oxford's new degree in computer science and philosophy.
My principal research interests have to do with the semantics of natural language in computational linguistics, and investigating how better similarity measures can improve tasks in information retrieval and knowledge extraction.
