Thesis Title: The Globalisation of Trauma Psychiatry with Implications of Taiwan (1945-95)
About
The main question of my doctoral project comes from the speculations on my previous medical practice. After graduating from medical school, I worked as a psychiatrist trainee in a general hospital in Taipei. In 2005, I went on reading psychoanalytic studies and the history of medicine at Essex and Oxford. At the moment I am tackling a popular theme in the history of medicine, psychological trauma, from cross-cultural perspectives.
My research interests include: the history psychiatry, disease classification (nosology) and standardisation, trauma theories, and the history of international health organizations.
