About

José Manuel Roche joined OPHI as a Research Officer in 2009. He holds a PhD in Sociology and an MSc in Social Research Methods from the University of Sussex, UK. His research interests include poverty analysis, social inequality, geographical inequality, survey analysis, human development and social indicators. He has served as a consultant and social statistics advisor for UNDP, UNICEF, EU, IDS, the Venezuelan National Institute of Statistics and the Venezuelan Ministry of Planning and Development. He has taught courses on advance statistics, social research methods, international development, and inequality at undergraduate and graduate level.
