Thesis Title: Figures of Authority: Cervantes's Responses to the Platonist Critique of Fiction in Selected Works
About
I am a doctoral student in the Faculty of Medieval and Modern Languages at the University of Oxford. My research focuses on Cervantes's portrayal of literary authority in his works, and how this portrayal develops over time.
I hold Bachelor of Arts degrees in Modern Languages (Spanish) and Communication (Advertising) from the University of Hartford. In 2004 I earned a Master of Arts in Communication from the University of Hartford. My thesis, "An Analysis of Informational and Cultural Content in Hispanic and Anglo Magazine Advertisements," was accepted for presentation at the Eastern Communication Association Annual Meeting in April 2004. In 2006 I earned a Master of Studies in European Literature at Oxford, focusing on the works of San Juan de la Cruz.
My research has been partially supported by the Leopold Schepp Foundation of New York and by the Light Senior Scholarship (St. Catherine's College, Oxford).
