About

Kaushal is a Green Templeton College DPhil Scholar studying for DPhil in Social Policy. Prior to this, he served as Vice President (Graduates) - an elected sabbatical executive officer at the Oxford University Student Union (OUSU) during 2008-09. Before joining Oxford University as an Inlaks scholar in 2006 for MPhil in Development Studies, he worked as Urban Planner in a planning consultancy firm in India for a short period. He was also involved in the UNDP’s National Strategy for the Urban Poor and the European Commission’s Asia Urbs Programme during his undergraduate days in India. In 2007, he did his fieldwork in Tanzania for his MPhil project on agricultural reforms and grain markets in Tanzania.

His research interests include – poverty reduction, social exclusion, economic geography, agricultural markets and urban development.
