About

Lydia holds a British Academy Postdoctoral Fellowship in Theology at Oxford University, together with a Junior Research Fellowship at Oriel College. She is currently running two major research projects, which build in different ways on her first monograph, 'Divine Illumination: The History and Future of Augustine's Theory of Knowledge' (Wiley-Blackwell in April 2011). The first project is a two-volume theory of knowledge. The second involves further research and editorial work related to the origins of the medieval Franciscan intellectual tradition. As a specialist in Augustine and his medieval reception, Lydia contributed to and co-edited the forthcoming ‘Oxford Guide to the Historical Reception of Augustine’.

Lydia joined the Theology Faculty at Oxford in the 2010-11 academic year, while a research fellow at St Stephen's House. She spent the 2009-10 academic year as a postdoctoral researcher at the Institut Catholique de Paris, France, after completing PhD and MTh degrees in Divinity at the University of Edinburgh in September 2009. During her doctoral studies, Lydia held a Medieval Academy of America research fellowship at the University of Toronto and an Andrew Mellon fellowship at St Louis University.
