About

I am a doctoral student at the Department of Sociology and St.Antony's College, University of Oxford. My research interest includes politics of labour, discrimination and exclusion at work, caste, language and religious politics, social movements and urban development.

Before joining Oxford, I did M.A and M.Phil degree in Political Science from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. I did my undergraduation in History and Political Science from D.G.Ruparel College, University of Mumbai (formerly Bombay).

Currently I am writing up the thesis based on the qualitative and quantitative data collected during 13 months field work in Mumbai and few villages in the Maharashtra State (Western India). The thesis, titled  "Survival and Coping Strategies in the Context of De-Industrialising Mumbai", is being supervised by  Professor Anthony Heath and Dr. Nandini Gooptu.
